The Cottage

Hare Cottage is a stunning barn conversion with the well-deserved 5 Star AA and Visit England status. Set in the pretty village of Finghall, Wensleydale there is a pub serving good food and stunning views from its decking. The cottage has breath-taking views from every room, a cosy wood burner to curl up in front of and a wood-fired hot tub looking out across the valley, 50 miles as the crow flies towards the coast. And for the railway children, a regular steam train hooting through the countryside.

At the front of the garden there is a raised decking area with sit soft sofas and a table - a perfect place for morning croissants and coffee whilst stoking up the hot tub. From here you can dip straight into the hot tub via a small walkway. Views are incredible from this part of the garden.

Oh and don't forget Clemmie and Claude - the two Shetland ponies who love to see and be petted by our guests.

Walking

Walks are in abundance and plenty with a local pub to stop for lunch. Lots of local rivers to walk by, 2 or 3 mile loop walks or jogs if you are feeling energetic right from the doorstep. If you fancy a pleasure train journey (dogs allowed) then pop down the road to Finghall train station (around 5 min walk from the cottage). You may even be lucky enough to catch the steam train which toots its way through the fields.

Local Towns and Villages

The local pretty towns of Bedale and Leyburn are only 5 miles (plenty of choice for takeaway food and shops) and if you are needing a film fix then Empire is only a 10 minute drive to Catterick where you will also find Tesco, Next, a large Boots, Domino's pizza and a fantastic modern and clean Nuffield leisure centre which hosts lots of classes, 3 swimming pool and gym.
